Jared has cultivated an accomplished and extensive career in branding, content development, advertising & communications, digital media & technology. Jared brings creative management experience forged from the corporate world along with having founded and managed 2 new media startups.
At The Sundance Institute, as a part of the Senior Leadership team, Jared supervised brand strategy and messaging, developed methods to grow constituencies, and launched new collaborations to tell the story of the Institute’s artists, programs and activities.
Having founded the Brand Content Agency, Jared worked together with the entertainment industry to develop digital content & social media engagement opportunities for Brands. BCA delivered value for clients and their audiences by utilizing multiple influencer networks and network partnerships to drive results.
At MWW, Jared was responsible for building the digital media team. Jared directed digital research and strategy for the social media and creative teams across all practice areas. Under Jared’s leadership, MWW recognized the need for it’s clients to leverage the power of digital and social strategy, content creation, distribution and measurement. Clients included Nikon USA, Samsung, McDonalds, Sara Lee, Deloitte, Pitney Bowes, Subaru, Booking.com, Vimeo, Nextag, Jet Blue, Virgin America, United Airlines and State of New Jersey Economic Development Authority.
Prior to MWW Jared worked with Katalyst Media, named top 10 in advertising and marketing by Fast Company. Founded in 2000 by Ashton Kutcher and Jason Goldberg, Katalyst is a studio for social media that connects entertainment with technology and brands. Client responsibilities included Clorox, CoverGirl, ClearChannel, Diagio, Microsoft, Nikon, Purina and VitaminWater.
As the Worldwide Executive Creative Director for Edelman Digital, Jared directed creative strategy with a focus on digital engagement. Management responsibilities included web site builds, Facebook programs, e-kits, online media relations, digital promotions & partnerships, email marketing and mobile campaigns. Clients included, Ebay, Wallmart, Ben & Jerry’s, Microsoft, HP, Starbucks, Samsung, Burger King, Quaker, Amtrak, Clorox, American Heart Association, Unilever, GSK and the National Dairy Board.
Jared’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to be a founder of 2 digital media startups. The first, SmashTube, pioneered digital video strategy, creative, production & distribution for branded programming within online, mobile video and social networks. MarketingForce, which went on to be acquired by Conclusive Marketing, was an online marketing platform for small business and large brands. Clients included American Express, Motorola, ERA, Century 21, Coldwell Banker, Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, Serta, AgFirst Bank, Assante, Dex Media & YouthAids.
Jared’s managerial experience was grounded by 10 years within the WPP family. As the Executive Creative Director and co-founder of G2, the branding division of WPP, he grew the group from 2 people to over 100+ in NY, while helping establish over a dozen international offices around the WPP network.
Jared is the author of a forward-thinking digital media blog. A prior board member for Social Media Week and The Art Directors Club, he has contributed as a Blue Ribbon Judge for the Emmy Award’s broadband category. Jared participates at industry events such as: Adtech, Digital Hollywood, CES, Adage 2.0 and Social Media Week.
He is a graduate of the Art Center College of Design and resides as their East Coast Chapter Chair.
